The Case for a New Constitution - Prof. David Langwallner, 18 May 2017

Friday, 28 April 2017

We are very pleased to welcome back Professor David Langwallner who will deliver a talk making the case for a new Constitution. "Bunreacht na hÉireann needs spring-cleaning and freshening up, though perhaps not yet dumping. Modernisation is required whether by way of a new constitution or by wholesale reform of the existing one. Above all we need a constitution for the people and not for the state, a rights-driven charter which mandates judges to grapple with questions of social and economic justice" The talk will take place between 1-2pm on Thursday 18th May 2017 at Ballymun Community Law Centre. Attendance is free but booking in advance is required. To book your place please contact us by phone on 01–8625805 or email cberesford@bclc.ie We look forward to welcoming you on 18th May :)
